Available only to Ex-RentalNews mailing list members and MySpace friends, this limited edition download EP compiles recordings which were either never completed or never previously released, for one reason or another. |
|
| |
It opens with an electro-disco track started for the Unpopular Pop album, that had to be abandoned because it required faster singing than humanly possible! Slowing down the music didn't seem to help either, so the track appears here in instrumental form. |
|
| |
How To Work It began as a fairly ambitious experiment, mixing electronics with more guitar parts than usual. The lyrics were never completed, so part of the track was used in the 'kill the floor mix' of Nightclub People instead. The full-length instrumental version appears here for the first time. |

My Beautiful Beautician is an old song written before Ex-Rental even had a name. Originally demo'd with guitar, the song was re-recorded in 2006 with piano accompaniment, but didn't work out as planned, so it only features a guide vocal. |

Finally, Deleted Scenes is a chaotic montage of 14 unfinished and unreleased recordings, the earliest of which are actually pre-Ex-Rental. Intended as the aural equivalent of outtakes and deleted scenes on a DVD, the montage includes excerpts from the following recordings: |

- Life On Mars? - unreleased David Bowie cover, circa 1996
- A Little More Information - unfinished backing track, circa 1999
- Stop Starting - unfinished instrumental, circa 1999

- Like The Stars - unfinished backing track, circa 1999
- To Keep You Here - unreleased 4-track cassette demo, circa 1996
